5. Chrome Extensions (Explorer & Counselor)

This section describes how the Talentopian browser extensions — Talentopian Explorer (for job seekers) and Talentopian Counselor (for career counselors) — handle data when used inside Google Meet or Zoom.

a. What we process. The extensions read the text captions that Google Meet or Zoom already display on the user's own screen. We do not record, upload, or store the raw audio of any meeting. We process only the caption text, which the user chose to enable in their meeting client.

b. What we do with it. Caption text is sent to our secure backend solely to (i) generate coaching suggestions during the session, (ii) produce an end-of-session analysis report (interview debrief or SOAP note), and (iii) save that report to the signed-in user's Talentopian account for their own later review. The text is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties; it is not used to train generic foundation models. Processed transcripts are retained for up to 90 days and are deleted when the user deletes the associated session or their account.

c. Consent responsibilities. The extensions are passive tools that operate on the user's own screen. If you are a counselor using Talentopian Counselor during a session with a client, you are responsible for informing the client — in accordance with your jurisdiction's recording and AI-assistance laws — that an AI tool is summarizing the conversation, and for obtaining any consent your profession or region requires. Talentopian provides the tool; the legal and ethical duty to disclose rests with the counselor.

d. What we never do. We never capture passwords, payment information, or content from tabs or applications outside the active video-call page. We never stream or store raw audio or video. Compliance warnings generated by Talentopian Counselor are advisory only, are never used as evidence of misconduct, and are visible only to the counselor who generated them.
